The simple answer… Maybe (lol)

Creating your own mock-up can be hard, and to be honest, I had never been interested in making one — until my Envato subscription expired one hot Thursday afternoon. Suddenly, I was stuck with a looming project deadline and no time to call my friend, who we shared a subscription.

I had two tasks to complete:

  1. Get a mock-up of the product in a tablet breakpoint.

  2. Create an animated GIF of the product on a mobile phone.

Where do I even start? I scoured the internet. I checked Unsplash, the Figma community, Freepik, Gumroad, and even tried my luck on Envato again — lol.

No luck. I kept hitting paywall after paywall for premium assets. Then, finally, I found it: the perfect mobile mock-up video. My search could end! But alas, it wasn’t a video — it was just a picture.

I had to think fast. How could I turn this static image into an animated mock-up? And that’s what led me here.
